A study examining how unusual meteorology interacted with topography and other local conditions to generate some of the most devastating floods in American history is featured as a recent Eos Research Spotlight. The study was led by AOS Associated Faculty Member Jim Smith, the William and Edna Macaleer Professor of Engineering and Applied Science.
He will present a related talk, "Strange Floods: The Upper Tail of Flood Peaks in the U.S.," at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in Guyot Hall, Room 10, as part of the PEI Faculty Seminar Series.
