Isaac Held Awarded 2018 Roger Revelle Medal

AOS Faculty Member Isaac Held, a GFDL senior research scientist, was awarded the 2018 Roger Revelle Medal on December 12 by the American Geophysical Union for his pioneering work to answer some of the biggest questions about the structure of our atmosphere and how its large-scale circulation systems drive our weather and climate.

This major award in the field of atmospheric science honors Held for his four decade career at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory as one of the major thinkers, writers and teachers in his field.  Held is a lecturer with rank of Professor in the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences Program.
