Human Activities are Dissolving the Seafloor

With increasing carbon dioxide from human activities, more acidic water is reaching the deep sea, dissolving some calcite-based sediments, say an international team of researchers, including AOS Research Oceanographer Robert (Bob) Key and Brian Arbic (University of Michigan), a former AOS postdoctoral researcher.  Their findings appear this week in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
