Presentation
Decarbonization Through Electrification: Estimating the Potential and Implications
Details
Event Description
Delavane Diaz, principal technical leader of Energy Systems and Climate Analysis at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), will discuss how “deep decarbonization” goals such as New Jersey’s 80×50 Energy Master Plan will require fundamental changes beyond the electric-generation sector. One of the main strategies is to shift end-use energy demand away from fossil fuels and toward electric end-use technologies. This talk builds upon EPRI’s assessment of the state-specific economic potential for electrification, which will vary depending on policy, economic and technology factors. This event is the first in the Spring 2020 CFI Seminar Series.
